Business Planning For Nurse Entrepreneurs….or Other Aspiring Business People. Do I Need A Business Plan?

by admin on Dec.31, 2008, under Writing and Speaking

All business is cyclic—good times, bad times, growth times, contraction times. Life in the online marketing field is no different. In order to take full advantage of the “good” times, and to insulate yourself and your new business from the “not so good” times, it is crucial to understand the basics.

First of all, start learning from othersuccess stories in your line of business…nurse entrepreneurs, nurse practitioners, legal nurse consultants. (Substitute your own chosen field)

Use the Internet: web sites, blogs, Google searches will provide a wealth of information; not the least important of which will be the personal contact information. You’ll find that many Business owners are just too busy to answer your inquiry…and that’s great…That’s just how busy you’re preparing to become.

But you will find many others—those not quite so pressed for time, as well as those who just can’t say no to a sincere question. Develop as many working relationships as you can with people who truly understand your wish to learn. You will find your own self-confidence growing. You will also be surprised at how much you have to return to your new “mentors”.

Begin immediately to install all this first hand knowledge into your own business plan.

You do have a business plan, don’t you? If not, then drop everything else and get to work building one. And again, the Internet will become invaluable. Do a Google for “business plan”. You’ll find literally thousands of pages. The “hows” and “whys” of creating that business plan should be your first study. There’s even very affordable software available that walks you through the entire process. NO EXCUSES. NO DELAY.

Creating your plan will be a great deal of work; so it’s critical that you have a thorough understanding of the process.

A business plan is NOT AN OPTION. It is probably the single, most important, first step to your success. Without one, you are going into battle totally unprepared and completely unarmed.

When it is in place, you will have clearly defined goals (business objectives); as well as a clearly defined plan to accomplish those goals.

It can’t be stressed strongly enough: Without a business plan, you don’t really have a business. What you have is a frustrating activity eating up your time, and taking you someplace that you may or may not wish to go.

That plan doesn’t have to be static. It will alter and grow as you and your business evolve and grow.

With the plan in place, you’ll find yourself more in control, more focused on priorities, more confident in your abilities to succeed. Clearly defined goals can be measured and achieved and celebrated. Shortfalls will be easily identified so that you can immediately take corrective action.

And all thanks to the time you spent on your BUSINESS PLAN.

Still not convinced? Keep doing what you’ve been doing for weeks, months or years WITHOUT A BUSINESS PLAN. Then come back to this article on a regular schedule till you are convinced. It’s your time…and your business.

Till next time,

Gayle

Jp Lizzy Diaper Bags Offer Function And Style For Less

by admin on Dec.31, 2008, under Family

The designer parenting gear you probably haven’t heard of yet are JP Lizzy diaper bags. Not for long though: One of JP Lizzy’s diaper bags just won the prestigious iParenting award for “Best Product for Baby Gear & Equipment.” What makes JP Lizzy stand out against the competition?

Well, it starts with inspiration. When the founder of JP Lizzy bags gave birth to twins, she quickly realized the lack of truly organized diaper bags on the market. This experience led Barry to create some designer diaper bags that maximized the use of pockets, sub-sections, and mixed functions to help busy moms-on-the-go find what they needed, when they needed it the most.

From here, JP Lizzy bags filled another niche: stylish bags that don’t break the bank. One innovative product is the Chamelia Clutch, which is the perfect choice for short outtings with baby in tow. The clutch carries all the essentials in a slim and compact profile, and looks like an ordinary purse. Parents love how this clutch can accessorize the larger Classic Tote diaper bag, which comes with all the stops: baby-changing pad, insulated bottle warmers, and of course more pockets than any other bag on the market.

So keep an eye out for the rise of JP Lizzy diaper bags. These are premium bags that cost less than the other designer bags, but deliver uncompromisable levels of usefulness …. and style.

Locating Dog Beds That Will Last

by admin on Dec.31, 2008, under Pets

You do not need to spend all of your money on a designer dog bed to receive a quality dog bed. On the other hand, you do need to be watchful of quality while dog bed shopping. When buying dog beds, you are doing yourself a favor by buying a single well made dog bed versus several cheap dog beds over the years. Why? over time, investing in many cheap dog beds costs more money. However,With that said, well made beds will not last an entire lifetime. All dog owners will buy more than one dog bed. However, you will invest in fewer high quality beds. There are things to look for so that you know you are purchasing a dog bed that will last for years to come.

  • Check the over-all interior and exterior construction of the bed.
  • Does it have high memory foam?
  • Is it large enough for your dog?
  • Is the bed dryable?
  • Is the bed washable?

You’re looking for a yes to any of the above questions, the more you get the better. You may find it hard to locate every quality that you are looking for in every size and color. As long as the bed is large enough for your dog, style and color are up to you. If you are having trouble choosing a dog bed, go with a neutral color that will coordinate nicely with your home.

Small dog beds are easy to come by. On the other hand, large dog beds are not as easy, but they can be found. Pay extra special attention to the quality of the interior. Because bigger dogs are using them, the bed can get worn down faster due to the heavier weight of a large dog. Some dog beds have removable centers that double as dog crate beds.

These beds are amazing investments and save space and money! A dog favorite is the bolster dog bed. Bolster dog beds have a cushioned outer top that gives extra comfort and protection.

Most important of all, keep quality construction in mind while searching for your pets bed. Price does not always determine quality. Keep in mind that sometimes you are only dishing out extra money for a name. A few of the smaller, lesser known dog bed brands will offer their products for less and offer better deals because they are trying to draw in business not because they have a worse standard of quality. Shop intelligently and read the description of the bed you have decided to purchase before you purchase it. Your dog will definitely appreciate that you did; and so will you!

One more word of advice. One way to find good bargains is following Christmas. Most people spend a great deal of money during the last quarter of the year. This is why you will find big price cuts in the month of January. The other great time to save is when seasons change.

Educational Baby Gifts - New Parents Love The Fun And Practicality

by admin on Dec.31, 2008, under Family

A new generation of toddlers is growing up with gadgets that teach as well as entertain. What better time to have children when there are so many unique educational baby gifts that encourage learning in a fun way.

In the 1970’s we had Sesame Street; the 1980’s saw the advent of Barney, and in the 1990’s our toddlers discovered Teletubbies. Each generation of toddler has its very own educational programming. The toy manufacturers want in on this lucrative and beneficial business.

This holiday season before you create your list and check it twice there are a few toys worthy of your serious consideration that may not leap immediately to mind. These items are almost guaranteed to earn your toddler’s love as well as make his imagination soar all while learning a few new skills.

PBS no longer has the corner on the educational programming market. There are scores of shows on public television as well as popular cable networks that very effectively teach as well as entertain toddlers. Why not treat your child to his or her very own DVD collection of their favorites for Christmas this year?

These gifts are certain to please and will ease pressure on parents who may need a few seconds of down time. Popping in a DVD to entertain your child while you drive or attend to household chores will not cause such pangs of guilt when you know that your child’s mind and imagination are benefiting from the experience.

To turbo boost your child’s learning and really make the television work for you there are a number of toys that make TV interactive. These toys combine technology and fun to make the screen of your television come alive with learning. The hook up is simple and play can last for hours.

Different programs allow your child to learn the alphabet. This is not just memorizing a simple song, but actually seeing and learning the letters by sight as well as their sounds. Such programs are bound to enhance early reading skills.

Other topics covered include: music, numbers, counting and simple math, early reading, basic history, geography and social lessons.

Most parents grow a bit faint at heart when the suggestion of computer games is offered to their toddlers. Don’t worry these games are neither hard core shoot ‘em up nor watered down fantasy entertainment.

Your toddler sees you at the computer and desires to likewise spend a fair share of time behind the keyboard. Familiar characters interact with your child as they navigate the video game together and learn from a wide variety of subjects. Toddler video games are fun, creative and most always teach pre-K skills with amazing proficiency. Baby Einstein products have amazing videos and audios that promote learning.

Learning to count, identify colors and shapes are not the only skills a video game has to offer your toddler. In today’s fast paced world which revolves around technology, a toddler who knows how to double click is just level with the learning curve. Exposing your child to the computer early and letting them learn mouse and keyboarding skills young will only help your child as they enter school.

All of these ideas can be helpful when shopping for a unique baby shower gift. After all, this new little person is going to be an important part of your life for a long time.

Moving Services Take the Hassle out of Relocation with Kids

by admin on Dec.31, 2008, under Womens World

When starting to plan a relocation there are multitudes of things to think about, especially when children are involved. Depending on how in-depth or how long the trip is, there are many services at one’s disposal to make the relocation a good experience as opposed to a problem. Kids may either find the relocation to be something exciting or heartbreaking; however, by making it as comfortable as possible it will make everyone involved much, much happier.

During the preparation stages of the relocation, look into moving services. These can be full service where a company actually comes into the house and packs all the belongings or can be used to just load the pre-boxed possessions into a truck and take them to the destination. Although this route might be a tad more expensive than doing it by one’s self, the relocation companies can minimize stress and provide a quick and efficient relocation. If deciding to use a relocation service, it is imperative to get several moving quotes.

Prices can fluctuate greatly between different companies. Some service providers might be bigger and have more resources making it more affordable; however, these companies may need a lot of advanced warning. Conversely, a smaller company may be able to fulfill the needs of the person relocating on shorter notice, but may be a bit more expensive. Whether using a local relocation company or hiring interstate movers, a service provider can be located with ease and within budget.

Utilizing a relocation company can really help ease the stress of a relocation, especially when children are involved. Often times, children can be overly curious or just plain cranky when big events such as a relocation are transpiring. During such a stressful time, the children may require more attention than usual. If the parent is constantly going back and forth between packing and coming to the aide of their child, they could possibly be losing needed time and causing more strain than is required. To alleviate the problem, a relocation company should be seriously thought about.

When organizing the next big relocation, remember it is simply easier to multi-task during the relocation by entertaining the children and directing the movers at the same time. Having the extra time to tend to the children will also comfort them as they relocate into a new environment. By lowering the all the family member’s stress it will make the relocation enjoyable and the experience as a whole much better.

Florida Car Shipping: After Buying a New Place, Save Money.

by admin on Dec.31, 2008, under Womens World

The purchase of a new home can be very expensive, especially if you are relocating from one state to another state. As costs rise, it is vital to save money in any way you can. It is vital to analyze your relocation to see if there are ways to save money or cut costs all together. There are many options to do it if you keep your eyes open and your wallet closed. The most important thing is to think before you spend or sign any contracts.

In most instances of relocation from state to state, you may have a vehicle that needs to get from point a to point b. A lot of times an individual may have more than a single car. Even if you have only one, I recommend car shipping. In the instance of my situation, I was relocating from New Jersey to Florida. Obviously I wanted to save money, and I did so by shipping my car rather than driving it down on my own.

The wear and tear along with the high fuel costs, made me research it. I located a New Jersey auto transport company who worked in conjunction with a Florida car shipping service that was relatively inexpensive considering what I was getting. In anyway I could save money I did. Other means of cost savings included using the biggest moving truck I could find. Rather than make multiple trips up and down the country or have to use a relocation service, I put everything I had into the moving truck. There was plenty of space to fit all of my belongings without needing to make another trip.

Also, I took the chance to get rid of a lot of stuff before I moved. There was no need to relocate items I did not need nor want. This also gave me some extra cash as I sold most of my possessions that I no longer had a use for.

Purchasing a home can be a very involved and expensive process. Therefore, you need to keep a sharp eye out to find ways to keep costs down surrounding your purchase. That would include insurance, relocation expenses, eating and the list goes on and on. It does not have to always be that way, but at first you may want to save money and you can do that by looking out for the best deals and being smart about your relocation.

Shopping For Strollers And What You Need To Know

by admin on Dec.30, 2008, under Kids and Teens

There are so many strollers on the market and it can be tough to know which one will suit your needs and be comfy for the baby as well.

Many parents find that as their baby grows they end up purchasing a few strollers to meet ever-growing needs.
Whether it be: a traditional stroller for every day, a light weight stroller for traveling, staying in shape with a jogger stroller - there are many strollers to suit your lifestyle needs in a durable and practical way.

The best strollers are the ones that will have dual features to grow along side of your baby. This means considering a stroller that reclines (for newborns), is light weight, durable, supports an infant car seat and has wheels that will suit the terrain in your area (side walks, gravel or country road).

Most parents use their stroller as often as their car so its important to take your time and think about daily paths you and your baby will be exploring.

Here are some helpful tips that make the long search of so many strollers on the market simple to choose from:

Buy lightweight if you rely on public transportation.
Make sure the stroller folds easy and is smooth to assemble.

Buy the best air cushioned tire you can afford. Tires take the most beating whether it be on pavement or a trail you want baby to be comfy.

If you are an active parent, think about a jogging stroller. It provides a fun way to get back into shape with your baby “counting the calories burnt as you go” :).

Determine your day to day schedule and where you and baby will be going with the stroller to consider the best options.

There it sums it up a bit for you to make your shopping for strollers easier and more fun.

Two Peas In A Pod Baby Shower Themes For Twin Babies

by admin on Dec.30, 2008, under Family

For a mother who is looking forward to twins, a “Two Peas in a Pod” baby shower theme is a great plan , for both baby boys and girls. This idea is all about announcing the future birth of not just one, but two babies, and commemorating their arrival into the world. Two Peas in a Pod is a very flexible idea , and permits for a lot of flexibility and room to be imaginative . For a mother who is looking forward to triplets or quadruplets, you can customize the name of this idea and call it “Three Peas in a Pod” or “Four Peas in a Pod.” From the invites to the food to the unique baby gifts, this article will present a number of impressive tips for putting together the perfect “Two Peas in a Pod” baby shower of the year.

For the invites , green cards and envelopes are your best bet. If you can get a number of peas-in-a-pod-themed invites , those will perform ideally for the baby shower. If not, a worthy plan is to get some invites or have a number of made that fold to open and close (like you can open and close a pea pod to get the peas), and that are green. A fine color pattern for your invites would be to make the background light green and the lettering on the inside a darker green. Pea-themed accompaniments will make your invites stand out from the rest, and for an extra flair, fling some green, round confetti inside of the invitation. The confetti creates a pleasurable , surprise factor when the invited visitors open their invites . Confetti can also add magic to the opening of the baby gifts twins, Mom and Dad will love.

For prizes, a fabulous plan is to acquire bathing and lotion sets that are “sweet pea” scented. You can enclose these beautifully in green cellophane paper and adorn with ribbon and accompaniments . If you obtain green polka-dotted cellophane paper, those will attach into the idea even more, since the polka dots bear a resemblance to little peas. For little gifts, thaw light green white chocolate chips (can be found at your local craft store), or thaw standard white chocolate chips and add a couple of drops of green food coloring, and pack the melted chocolate into little sphere-like molds. Find small, green paper boxes and pack them up with some white chocolate “peas.” These embellished boxes can be obtained at the weddings/showers section of your local craft store. Don’t forget to adorn the pea pod boxes, and individualize them if you wish .

When it comes to food, it is significant to be inventive . A complete buffet of peas would possibly be a little bizarre and bland , so find a way to mix lots of assorted types of foods that bear a resemblance to peas in a certain way. For instance , edamame and seedless green grapes both make lip-smacking and healthful snacks to chomp on. Cupcakes decorated with baby green vanilla frosting and covered with a darker tint of green, shiny sprinkles are wonderful for dessert. Split pea soup is a scrumptious entr
